How to use
01

Install the package

Requires Python 3.10+. ffmpeg is bundled — no separate installation needed.

pip install y2cli

Run interactively

Paste a URL. Use arrow keys to pick a format. Press Enter to download.

Direct download (no prompts)

Skip the picker by specifying a format ID directly.

y2cli "https://..." --format mp3 y2cli "https://..." --format mp4_720 y2cli "https://..." --format mp4_1080 --output "D:\Videos"

Start the local server

Required for the browser extension and VS Code extension to communicate with the CLI.

y2cli --serve # Runs on http://127.0.0.1:7272 # On Windows, auto-starts at login via Startup folder
